St. Dwynwen's Noson Lawen (Merry Evening)
Join us in 2012 and see what surprises are in store.
St. Dwynwyn is the Welsh patron Saint of Lovers.  Every year we celebrate St Dwynwen with a Welsh Noson Lawen or Merry Evening.  This mini-festival of Welsh Culture starts with a potluck dinner features a program that in previous years has included poetry, music, stories, a mummer’s play, folk dancing and a visit from the Mari Lwyd.

St. David's Day
March 4th, 2012 - tentative

One of the Society’s major events of the year is our celebratory service commemorating the Patron Saint of Wales, Saint David or Dewi Sant.  The program includes music by the Colorado Welsh Society Choir, poetry, soloists and congregational hymn singing.  Following the service we gather for a pot luck dinner.

Cymdeithas Madog Presents
Cwrs Cymraeg 2012,
July 22-29, 2012,

Cymdeithas Madog is pleased to announce it's 36th annual Cwrs Cymraeg Welsh language week. Cwrs Cymraeg 2012 will be held July 22 - 29 2012 on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt lake City.

Cwrs Cymraeg (which simply means "Welsh Course") emphasizes the spoken language, with classroom instruction at various levels ranging from absolute beginners to quite advanced. The teaching staff of experienced Welsh-speaking instructors is brought from Wales and North America . There are approximately 5 hours of language class each day, supplemented by further language and culture-related activities in the afternoon. Evening events such as singing, folk dancing, Welsh-language films, and a Noson Lawen (talent night) provide additional opportunities to relax while enjoying a Welsh-language atmosphere.

Colorado Scottish Festival and Rocky Mountain Highland Games
Every year we join our Celtic cousins at this festival held at Highland Heritage Park, in Highlands Ranch.  In addition to our booth the Colorado Welsh Folk Dancers perform.

Longs Peak Scottish - Irish Festival
Estes Park, Colorado, September 8- 11, 2011

After a hiatus in 2010, this event will return in 2011 in a new updated format.  Please check back nearer the date for more information and join us to see who will be this year’s honored hero or heroine.

Celtic Harvest Festival Edgewater
Edgewater, Colorado,  September 17-18, 2011

This year for the first time Colorado Welsh Society will be joining the Celtic Harvest Festival in Edgewater.  This new festival  in only it second year is held in Citizen’s Park, Edgewater.  Details of our participation are still being planned but the Welsh Danvers will be performing two sets on Sunday the 18th.  For more information on the festival please visit their website.

Come celebrate the season with members of the Colorado Welsh Society at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 13th & Poplar. We will have Christmas songs, Welsh hymns, and Christmas Customs, followed by te bach (refreshments) and entertainment. Everyone is welcome.
